Recently, a client shared their experience, highlighting the complexities of balancing health and career. Here's the story:

My client battled year-round asthma and severe allergies triggered by various activities and chemicals. After receiving a note from the doctor recommending a job change unless accommodations could be made, my client approached the employer, hoping for understanding.


Initially, the response seemed promising; the boss stated that my client did not need to leave the role. 


However, after a reassignment to a different section, things took a troubling turn. The manager accused my client of malingering and questioned loyalty. Tasks that triggered asthma were assigned, and when my client voiced concerns and refused to perform the tasks, the response was to ‘just take preventive medication like everyone else.’ Ultimately, my client was fired for protecting health.


The questions we must ask are:
